AWARDS AND ORATIONS


DR J S PASRICHA LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Objective: The award aims to honor an outstanding dermatologist in the name of Dr. J.S. Pasricha, a living legend in the field of contact and Occupational dermatoses.

Eligibility: The award is open to all dermatologists who are members of CODFI, and have made significant contributions to the field of contact dermatitis, and have worked in the field for over 25 years.

Selection Criteria:The selection committee will consider the following criteria:

  • Teaching and mentoring: The candidate should have a record of teaching and mentoring students and young dermatologists.
  • Research contributions: The candidate should have made significant research contributions to the field of dermatology.
  • Service to the community: The candidate should have demonstrated a commitment to serving the community through their work in terms of improving the lives of patients with contact and Occupational dermatoses.
  • Clinical excellence: The candidate should have demonstrated clinical excellence in their practice.
  • Innovation: The candidate should have demonstrated innovation in bringing about a positive change in the field of contact and Occupational dermatoses.

Selection Process: The selection process will be done every year, and candidates can be chosen either by asking to submit their CV and a statement outlining their contributions to the field or can be unanimously selected by the selection committee.

Selection Committee: The selection committee will consist of a panel of three experts in in the field of contact and Occupational dermatoses (namely, President CODFI, Secretary CODFI, and Organizing Chairperson CODFICON), who will review the possible awardee.

Award: The award will consist of a trophy, a citation, and a Stroll/Medal or cash prize.

Presentation: The award will be presented every year at a special ceremony, where the awardee will be honored and will deliver an oration on their work and contributions to the field.

Frequency: The award will be given every year, on a date to be decided by the organizers.

Organizers: The award will be organized by CODFI a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting excellence in dermatology.

Funding: The award will be funded by CODFI.

Cancellation: The organizers reserve the right to cancel the award at any time, without prior notice.

DR A K BAJAJ MEMORIAL ORATION

Objective: The Dr. A.K. Bajaj Memorial Oration has been established to recognize and honor a renowned dermatologist who has made significant contributions in the field of dermatology, specifically contact dermatitis.

Eligibility: The award is open to any qualified dermatologist who has made notable contributions in the field of contact dermatitis.

Selection Criteria:The selection committee will consider the following criteria:

  • Education and training rendered on various facets of contact dermatitis
  • Leadership and service to the dermatology community
  • Clinical expertise and contributions to patient care in general and patients of contact and Occupational dermatoses in particular
  • Research and publications in contact dermatitis

Award: Trophy, shawl, certificate.

Nomination: Open to CODFI members and notable non-members (India/abroad).

Committee: President CODFI, Secretary CODFI, Organizing Chairperson CODFICON.

Presentation: At CODFI Conference, includes oration delivery.

Award Details:The award will be presented annually during the Contact and Occupational Dermatosis Forum of India (CODFI) conference. The award will consist of a Trophy, Shawl and certificate.

Nomination Process:Applications will be invited from CODFI members notable individuals who are non-members, from India or abroad, maybe nominated for the Oration based on set selection criteria, CODFI members will be preferred. The nomination deadline will be sufficient time prior to the award presentation.

Selection Committee:The selection committee will consist of a panel of three experts in in the field of contact and Occupational dermatoses (namely, President CODFI, Secretary CODFI, and Organizing Chairperson CODFICON), who will review the possible awardee.

Award Presentation:The award will be presented during the CODFI conference, and the awardee will be required to deliver an oration on their work in contact dermatitis.

DR MAHAVIR MEHTA AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE IN CONTACT DERMATITIS

Award Paper Presentation Awards:

  • First Prize: Dr. Mahavir Mehta Gold Medal and a cash prize of ₹ 5,000
  • Second Prize: Dr. Mahavir Mehta Silver Medal and a cash prize of ₹ 3,000
  • Third Prize: Dr. Mahavir Mehta Bronze Medal and a cash prize of ₹ 2,000

Eligibility: The awards are open to all dermatologists, researchers, and students who have submitted their free papers related to contact dermatitis.

Selection Criteria:

Free Paper Presentation Awards:

  • Originality and significance of the research (30 points)
  • Quality of presentation (20 points)
  • Relevance to contact dermatitis (20 points)
  • Clarity and concision of the presentation (30 points)

Judging:

  • A panel of three judges will review the free papers.
  • The judges' decisions will be final and binding.

CODFI QUIZ AWARDS (for Junior Residents only)

  • First Prize: CODFI Quiz Champion Trophy and a cash prize of ₹ 5,000
  • Second Prize: CODFI Quiz Runner-up Trophy and a cash prize of ₹ 3,000
  • Third Prize: CODFI Quiz Third Place Trophy and a cash prize of ₹ 2,000

The awards will be presented during the Valedictory function of the annual conference of Contact & Occupational Dermatoses Forum of India (CODFICON)
